Just checking in for the first time in a while. Seems like I have been on quite a few websites lately, except this one. Check the below.

I was stoked to Qualify in 2nd. Nick Brown qualified for the finals as well. It was so much fun. Good jump and a sick format! I ended up just out of the money in 4th place.

14 year old Japanese spinner, and almost winner, Yuuki Kadono came 2nd and is donating half his US$8000 winnings to the Tsunami relief fund.

Japan has always treated me well, but this year took the cake. After a month of trains, planes, powder and a whole lot more sun than usual in Japan I can happily say it was an amazing trip!

I have put together this horrible mashup of clips to best explain how the month went down. Unfortunately there is a lack of footage from my time in Hokkaido, but the rest is history.

It has been heaps of fun here in Park City. The park has been good and the snow has been awesome.

After a whole lot of stress and tracking and Emails I got my new outerwear on Friday. SO stoked!

Northern Hemisphere 2011.

Here is an edit from the first day riding of 2011. I have been in the Northern Hemisphere for 10 days or so now and here is the first bit of filming I have been into. Theo Muse is helping Brett Wilson make some Sponsor This? edits. He has a Go Pro camera and a suction cup. He stuck it to my board and did a couple of follow cam runs. Here is how it turned out. Here are a few edits that got made from the New Zealand season.

1. This edit is from Snowpark in September. A few runs down the rail line.

2. This is from July at Snowpark.

3. This a Snodice session from up at The Remarkables in July. Roll the dice and see what trick you have to do.

4. This is a game of SHRED at Cardrona in September. The snow equivalent of SKATE but on a whole bunch of different features.

This past season was Bangin' to say the least. A whole heap of travel, good friends, resorts and experiences all tucked under the belt. It is crazy being back in New Zealand - it feels like the past 3 and a half months were just a blur of good times. It is easy to forget about the travel stress and other crap and just remember the trip for being awesome. Snowboarding has lent me some good times lately that is FOR SURE. Am now looking forward to doing it all again here in New Zealand but until then check out some photos off my phone of my travels.

Well it doesn't seem like that long ago that I was just arriving in Japan but now it is 6 weeks later! I have been pretty much constantly on the move since my last post but I am in Tahoe now and Northstar is amazing! The plan is get out and film until the end of the season. It is snowing right now so things are looking promising! I would love to add some more photos on here of what I have been up to but my (3 month old) computer has just bitten the dust. In the meantime check this video that was apparently broadcast to 300 million Chinese people on CCTV.

Am back in Hokkaido at the moment with some of the Ride crew. We hit some stuff off the side off the road today.

Before Hokkaido Sam Hulbert and I went and stayed with my friend Hiro before 'The Slope' Slopestyle at Joetsu Kokusai in Niigata.

So stoked on this event! I have been to watch it twice as a grommet

and finally getting to do it was amazing.

Sam and I ended up having to battle in the Semi-Finals with Sam getting through and

ending up in Second.

There was no battle for third and fourth so not really sure which place to claim there..ummm third.

Nick Brown, Jake Koia and I headed up to Mount Seymour yesterday to film another video blog. Unfortunately, the weather wasn't the best (did you see Wayne Gretzky on the back of that ute carrying the torch?) so we rode a few laps and got these iphone photos.

Canadian Open is over. Kendall Brown deserves mad props for her effort in WINNING the halfpipe. Myself, Nick Brown, Stef Zeestraten and Jake Koia had a whole heap of fun during the competition and all rode well during practice. I had one of my best runs in the Semi-finals but ended up with 22nd not quite making the 16 man final.

In Vancouver now after an amazing drive from Calgary. Canada is a beautiful place.

Browner and I have been to Mount Seymour a couple of times and here is a little video blog to show what we got up to. Enjoy.

Team New Zealand in Chinatown

I went to Bear Mountain a few weeks ago with my friend Starr. I went filming for Sundays in the Park but only got 2 runs with the filmer. The video went on Twsnow.com today with a a couple of shots in there.

Myself, Nick Brown and Stef Zeestraaten have been in Calgary for quite a few days now for the first World Cup Slopestyle. It was a super fun course and we ended up getting 3rd (Browner), 4th (Stef) and 5th (me). The Canadian Open is at the same place this next week so looking forward to that as well!

I was staying with my friend Starr in Los Angeles and we went up to Bear Mountain on Saturday. They have TONS of boxes and a couple of jumps. I intended on filming with Sundays in the Park for Transworld but the filmer was super busy and we only got 2 or 3 runs together. Should have a couple of mellow things in there though I think. Fun day all up!

China was the most amazing competition any snowboarder could ask for. Met some really rad people and had a blast with every need taken care of. I got about 2 hours of footage - none of which is snowboarding. There were so many rad things we got to experience that you just couldn't get to do usually.

The week in China absolutely smashed the back out of any other competition I have ever been to.

This place blew me away. Everything about the place was amazing. The toilets were so fancy I felt bad doing what I did in there. Everything from the fire to the birthday cakes was classy. I could go on and on but check out the wine cellar photo then go and check it out for yourself.

The Winter Games are here in New Zealand. The Slopestyle for snowboarding is tomorrow. Skiing is today. We went up for a play yesterday but due to flat light this iPhone footage was about as productive as the day got. Looking forward to it.

I have stolen this photo from my friend Stef's blog. The only appropriate caption here is FREEDOM.

The last few weeks have been rad! August has brought some sporadic weather to The Southern Lakes. The result has been snowy mornings and FUN afternoons! The New Zealand Open has just come to a close. I came 21st in the Slopestyle. The finals for both Slopestyle and Halfpipe saw snowboarding go to a new level. I won the Remarkables Slopestyle on Saturday. The park up there is a good time. Coronet Peak has also been good in recent weeks -see Diaries Downunder 3 below. We also went to a pilot for a new show called 'The Match'. We had fun with a taser.

We went up to Coronet Peak today and caught some air filming for Episode 3 of Diaries Downunder.

JP pushing us up a landing super early season at The Remarkables.

After 50 bluebird days in a row the snow is once again falling here in New Zealand. The parks have been in good shape and with this top up of snow the backcountry should open up some good options too.

Diaries Downunder Episode 1 is history and the second episode is now up to view.

This inversion layer haunted Queenstown early season. We rose above it.

I painted the front door in June.

We get into The Stash in Episode 2. No jumping just playing on some of the dope features the park crew thought up.

Ride have put it up on their website in RCTV. Actually if you like to know what people have on their minds check it out on Twsnow.com. If the video doesn't entertain you at least the comment board will. Episode 2 is also viewable from this link at nzsnowboard.com.

I have been coaching my Wintech Japanese crew a bit in the past week and one of the students

has been sending shit beyond his years. He is 15 and has been keeping me on my toes. He launched one of the biggest hits I have ever seen at Coronet Peak yesterday and didn't flinch when he landed in the last metre of transition. It made me and the rest of the Japanese students do the classic 'eeeeeeeeeeeeeehh' with wide open mouth and eyes. Coronet Peak is ON at the moment. Coronet has possibly got the most fun lift-accessed terrain out of any resort I have been to and it is 20 minutes from Queenstown.

Tennis, painting, spaing, sparring, iPhoning, East Bound and Downing and champagne consuming have been a few other things going on lately. Will try to update this more often in the next few weeks. August should be a crazy one.

Was meant to post this on Saturday.

Yup it is past the shortest day of the year in New Zealand now and that means that for the next 3 months the snow is in The Southern Lakes to slide. I had my sixteenth day of the season yesterday and then moved swiftly to the Quiksilver flagship store opening in Queenstown. On entry we were greeted by the friendly staff and they then gave brought us champagne and wristbands for the afterparty at Prime. From Prime we all watched the the opening of Winter Festival fireworks display with Pinot Noir in hand. We were claiming Dress Circle status. The bar tab didn't run out at all and a good crew showed up.

Just got the internet hooked up. Has only taken 2 weeks. The amount of snow around the Southern Lakes is amazing at the moment. The three headlines on the cover of the Southland Times a few days ago were 'Coldest May in 50 years for Queenstown', '13 year old snowboarder in coma with alcohol poisoning' and something about 'Keen skiers camp overnight to get first chairlift at Coronet Peak'. A lot of tennis, painting, snowboarding and a garage sale has been going on in the last month also and hopefully a lot more to come.

All you can eat sushi. I ate all I could -then dessert.

Sushi Pier Reno. Tuna and Salmon slabs. It was their 9th anniversary today. They had a raffle and gave out free desserts and alcohol. The guy next to us won a lingerie voucher.

April has been sick so far! Will, Browner, Roebuck and I got some snow at Stevens Pass that

was pretty much too deep to ride. We had heaps of fun.

The next day Will, Browner and I went up there again and it was just like the day before but a bit lighter and easier to ride. FUN.

That night I met up with a few of the Ride people and we got on a plane to The Ride Shakedown at Mont Saint Saveur just out of Montreal. We left at 10pm and got into New York at 6am New York time. We got on the next plane 3 hours later to Burlington, Vermont where we got 2

rental cars and met New Hampshire man Sam Hulbert. Austin, Noble and Scott jumped in one

van and Sam, Sickels and I were in the other.

Night flight from Seattle.

We loaded the vans with board bags and drove across the border to Quebec, Canada. After being interrogated by customs we were let through and made our way to Montreal airport to

pick up Jusso. Just after we were across the border Sickels realised he had forgotten Darrel. A

few phone calls and Darrel started to make his own way in another rental car. We got to Mont Saint Saveur in the evening and were greeted with a dope castle type residence. I scored a bed, which has put my total number of nights slept in a bed in 2009 to 12.

Hot chicken Sandwich - Pretty much a sandwich smothered with gravy.

The first day was Qualifiers. A pretty tough cut with the field of 70 being cut to 3 who went through to the semi finals. After that was the Rail Jam. There were about 25 or so of us in it. Nobody was taking it easy. The setup was battleship rail - why?, a down-flat concrete ledge and a C down rail. It was rad. 3 people were chosen from the jam session to go through to a final 2

run showdown for $5000. It was torrential pissing down rain so we ended up leaving before the

finals but apparently Will Lavigne won with a hardway cab 270 through the concrete

ledge. Yale Cousino was second and Charles Reid claimed he was going for the crowd pleaser and tried a backside rodeo off the battleship.

The next morning we took it pretty easy and made our way to the hill for semi finals in the

afternoon. Once we were registered and sitting down we were told there was an autograph signing session. It lasted about half an hour and was pretty funny. It would have been the most fun to be at the end of the chain viewing all the ridiculous stuff written before you though. The format is real different to a normal competition. We got 2 and a half hours to ride the course and in that 2 and a half hours we got 2 judged runs. When you wanted your run judged you told the guy at the top the trick and the grab you wanted to do and he would radio the judges saying 'run ju'jey'. I am guessing it means judged run.

I landed a Front 9 tail into half cab 5050 on the ledge. I ended up in 17th. 15 went through to the finals. A lot of crazy stuff went down. Here are a few links to some videos.

The next day was another massive travel day, with the drive to Burlington not really going thatswimmingly. We got lost and ended up seeing a whole lot of Quebec we hadn't planned on seeing. Luckily our plane was delayed an hour and we walked straight onto it. We got to New York and walked onto our next plane right away as well. Roebucks the trooper set his his alarm and come and got me from Seattle airport at 12.30am. Thank you!

Back in Seattle.The next morning Greg was up early frothing as he does and we jumped in his

car and made our way to the Stevens Pass carpark. We ended up spending 5 hours building a corner wallridey, oververt skatebowl/pooly thing. One of the dopest things I have helped build for sure, and the photos look rad. Thank you once again Greg!

The next morning Browner, Michelle and I started to make our way to Tahoe in Browner's truck. The drive ended up taking us 2 days. We stayed a night in Oregon. Browner had both the front wheels off his truck 3 times in the 2 days but we did eventually make it to Reno.

The next day Browner decided to take the day off to fix his wheels. I went and rode the park at Northstar. It was fun but the weather was a bit dodgy and hit my head so have had a few days off.

We went and checked out a few of Reno's finest casinos and saw a circus show last night.

Today was filled in with a walk to a park via a cupcakery and a deli.

Spencer, Bugs and Browner shaved their heads today. I wasn't keen. We helped Browner get the transmission out of his truck today and I got grease in my eye, nose, mouth and yup ear as well. I also got some in my hair, which made me think going brazilian up top would have been a good idea but am going to stay long for the moment unless Roebucks steps his offer up from $100.

Oh yeah, since last time I blogged we went to the world's newest and oldest Starbucks. We also got given some sweet Hersheys Kisses by a Waitomo Caves fanatic. We saw a guy hula hoop and play guitar at the same time, we also hit a gap over a cat track at Mount Baker and because of a blizzard, speed issues, a bit of sucking and 4 feet of snow in 3 days got nothing in the bag. We did make a snowcave though.

Am in Niigata at the moment coaching a Wintech camp. Ate about a kilo of food for dinner last night. Couldn't really walk properly after it. Here are some pictures from the Asian Open. Check out the singing dog! After 12 beats of Amazing Grace the dog steals the show.

Semi Finals Asian Open Slopestyle

Today was the Asian Open Slopestyle Semi Finals at Alts Bandai. After a horrific food poisoning filled fun 12 hour, 5 different trains excursion Bugs and I found ourselves here on Sunday. Exhausted we slept the whole day. The next day was registration and I spent the best part of the day either sleeping or in 'mens room'. There was a bit of practice and being outdoors gave me a bit of fresh air and practice went fine. That night the sound of my guts swirling about woke me up. Not good. The next day was Pre-qualifiers and qualifiers. I just made it through both which brings us the semi finals today.

I landed a run I was stoked on with 2 9s but it wasn't quite enough and I came 28th. 16 went through to the finals. Chas Guldemond is in first with Cab 9 into Back 12. The 12 was insane.

Next on the agenda is an Asahi and Onsen. Bugs is probably making up a little web video of the Nippon Open but in the meantime go to reasonfilms.net and check out the latest blog.

Some beer in Japan is fake (beer flavoured beverage). Strong Seven is one of them. That is real bear in front of it however.

Have just been drinking beer and eating bear. Some Venison came out too. My first time eating bear meat. It is surprisingly delicious! It has been snowing all day. So much snow! Tomorrow should be incredible. Can't wait!

We have been riding and filming as much as we can lately. Some long days - one started at 4.50am and we got home 12.30am and some mellow days. All of them have been pretty fun. Bugs is here filming with his new dope camera setup. His video editing is looking daaaaammn good too.

Here is a list of some of the things I have seen in the last few days.

1. Homeless looking guy threw a cheeseburger wrapper at us at McDonalds. He was rocking a Rossignol fluoro cap with fluffy ears and the peak turned up

2. Saw roadworkers - they are crazy. 5 people smoking cigarettes while one guy starts digging some snow out of a hole.

3. Saw Mark and Ferret scrapping while wasted yelling 'SUMIMASEN SUPERMAN' at each other. Jeremy jumped out of bed slammed Mark down then was back asleep all within 5 seconds.

4. 4 foot deep snow.

5. A lady towing her shopping around in a snowsled.

Dew Tour was pretty dope. Was hard to get speed for the last jump but alllllll good. I ended up in 25th in the qualifiers and 17 ended up going through. Bit gutting because my run wasn't really good at all. The party the next night was pretty maggot.

Park City has been fun. I have ridden 4 days there and they have a 5 jump line. Fun! I sessioned it for 4 hours straight yesterday. Today I have slept almost all day.

So, good times in Utah. We hit a ledge the other night that we managed to get pretty sweet photos on. Was a good mellow start to filming.

Colorado has a good amount of snow. The Ride mini ramp in Seattle is 4 foot and hammers. Skatelite ply and a 6 foot mini is about to be connected which should be mental.

Whistler is a fun place place and the park there was nice for a start-of-the-season shralp and a bit of board testing went down also. Lowrise rocker gets the thumbs up from me.

Tomorrow the Dew Tour slopestyle are happening. We filled out a crazy amount of paperwork today for entry.

Am back in The Mount after a nice drive from Queenstown up here. A lot of singing to myself and V drinking went on on the drive but I am at my destination now.

Have finished painting the house and snow is on my agenda next. Have got my my feet sandy on a stroll along the beach and just checked out the new Rome movie at Dutty's pad. Eiki Halgason and LNP are deboucherous.

Stayed in Wellington and enjoyed Oriental Bay with Matt Bell. 2 years in a row I have scored it on the drive up. Calm, sunny Wellington. Also, stopped in Kaikoura before Wellington to catch up with the Stef Zeestraten. The man is relaxing and relishing in the beauty Kaikoura offers.

The road from Queenstown all the way up to Christchurch was amazing. It was like something from a Disney movie. The road was lined with purple Lupins. All of the rivers had Lupins around them too.

A barbeque on friday night at the Queesntown skatepark was another rad thing that has gone on in the past week. Geetz, Sammy and Farad? Were destroying the step up and new step up to ledge ply addition.

Flying can be a hassle but nost of the time it is bloody brilliant. I had a nightmare of a time getting from Rotorua to Queenstown last Thursday. The Qantas plane was broken. Engineering we were told. So , I didnn't get on the 1.40 flight that I was scheduled to go on. The next flight which only got as far as Christchurch was scheduled for 3.30. That was full. So, onto the 5.15 flight to Wellington linking to Christchurch. "When you get to Christchurch just go to the Qantas service desk and they will sort your accommodation for you and you can catch the earliest flight in the morning to Queenstown" I was told. "Will they still be open when I arrive at 7.30?" I asked. "Will just check that....yup they will" I got told. Thank you, that sounds easy I thought. I get to Christchurch airport and both the international and domestic Qantas terminals are shut. Hmmm..I thought and jumped on the phone to 0800 number. After being put on hold for 30 minutes then again for 20 minutes I finally get the answer that no they can't help me and noone had the name of the hotel that Qantas usually uses in Christchurch. This is ridiculous I told the lady. I just want the name of the hotel! "Can you call Australia and see if they have the name of the hotel?" I asked. No, we don't have the umber and there is nothing else we can do.

I went and asked for some more help but everywhere was closed. The tourist desk, the Air New Zealand counter, the security guards..noone could tell me anything.

I finally found out the name of the hotel and had decided that I would use my credit card and charge it back to Qantas. Mum called Qantas in Australia and by the time I was checking in at the hotel a room, dinner and breakfast had been sorted out. I took it easy and then jumped on the first plane the next morning to my destination. I got into Queenstown about 20 hours later than I first thought....pretty sweet hotel and meals though.
